Reminder About Medicare Part D Notification


This is a reminder that employers who sponsor health plans are required before October 15 each year to provide notification to Medicare eligible individuals covered under their plan that the prescription drug component of the plan is (or is not) “creditable” coverage.

If you have used the “all in one” notice RBA generates for you, or if you participate in a service such as ERISAEdge through RBA, and have distributed notices in connection with enrollment or otherwise within the last 12 months, you have satisfied the distribution requirement.

In addition to providing the notice to current covered employees, note that the creditable drug coverage notice should be provided to COBRA participants and retirees, if any, covered under your plan.
